Worked with the CEO and Board of an engineering society to develop its first international strategic plan. Facilitated day-long discussion with Board and CEO to discuss the organization's SWOT (strengths, weakneses, opportunities, and threats), build upon its proven successes in the international arena, address critical questions in moving forward, and analyze potential organizational models for greater outreach. As a result, drafted a set of realistic goals, objectives, and strategies of a plan that were then prioritized for implementation.

Partnered with senior staff of a large health-related society to develop criteria and a rating system for evaluating proposals of overseas providers for an international market assessment. Conducted an analysis and scoring of each proposal based on the criteria, along with strengths and weaknesses, and developed a set questions that staff should address with each finalist.

Facilitated a strategic planning session with the Board of a technology-oriented organization to assess strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges of their international initiatives, and develop next steps for greater international expansion.

Partnered with the senior staff and International Task Force of a large scientific organization to conduct an international member needs assessment, develop a dues structure for members in developing countries, and establish criteria and countries for future international expansion.

Worked with the senior management of a large construction-oriented international federation to examine their current dues structure and develop some alternative options for better meeting the needs of their international members.Some of the specific issues focused on the cost of membership, the cost to service their international members, the value of membership, and examples of how similar type organizations have addressed this issue.
- Worked with a medical society to outline different structural models for organizing their members located outside the U.S., and working with their overseas counterparts. Some of these options included establishing international chapters, creating international affiliates, forming strategic alliances, setting up licensing agreements, or a hybrid of these models. This medical society adopted an international affiliate model. I then worked with them to create an international affiliation agreement that outlines the roles and and responsibilities of each entity, and a Start-up Guide that outlines the objectives to be accomplished through this affiliation.
- Worked with an International Task Force of a trade association to draft a paper on 'Going Global' and identified several issues for becoming more global. Some of these issues included changes in staff and volunteer mindset, rethinking its organizational stucture to better respond to a growing international membership, and balancing the needs of its domestic members while continuing to expand its international program. In addition, also drafted a paper on the advantages and disadvantages of several organizational models, including strategic alliances, establishing chapters and opening up overseas offices.
- Identified several strategic questions for a large educational organization to address to continue moving forward internationally. Some of these issues focused on the differences in how their profession is practiced around the world, the value of globalization to their North American members and their international affiliate structure.
- Worked with an International Development Task Force and staff of a professional society to address various international challenges. Some of these included developing criteria for new international chapters forming, collecting overseas chapter dues, and instituting a pilot regional structure within the context of the organizations' overall globalization goals.
- Developed a resource manual for the leadership of a large professional society's global networks outlining the expectations and specific activities to be accomplished. In addition, also drafted an Affiliation Agreement that details the roles and responsibilities between the professional society and its networks.

Conducted a one-day training workshop for the staff of a large international trade association on cross-cultural awareness issues, and integrating an international dimension throughout the organization's operations. Included customized case studies tailored to the specific issues of the organization.
- Researched the characteristics of different international franchise and licensing models and recommended a model for a large professional society.
- Drafted a job description for a newly created Director of International Affairs position for a scientific society.
